Corresponded with someone from another studio to rectify an issue. That was interesting.
I finished AC2 yesterday and originally planned to go home to start on ACB but I’m glad I didn’t. Went to my first IGDA event where Randy Pitchford was giving a post-mortem and breakdown of what it took for Gearbox to ship Duke Nukem Forever. He was funny, candid and knew how to hold our attention. I like how he started as a technical person who became a businessman and isn’t afraid to talk about things like profits, budgets and priorities. I think I’m convinced to give DNF a try; he said we owed it to ourselves as developers to play the game, then again he also said he’s good at manipulating people from his magician days.
